Barbara Jean (Taylor) Tesner

Barbara Jean Tesner, 75, of the Meadow Branch Community near Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 19, 2019 at her residence. 

A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Rev. Alfred and Pauline Baldwin Taylor.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dwards Tesner, her infant daughter, Barbara Gail Tesner, and her son, Dwight Tesner. 

Barbara moved to Graham County in 2001 and has made many friends in that time.  She worked both at Tapoco Lodge and Fontana Village, creating many lasting friendships along the way. 

She is survived by her sons and daughter in law, Terry and Darla Tesner of Forest City, NC, and Larry Tesner of Alexander, NC; and her brother, Sterling Taylor of Alexander, NC.  She has three grandchildren, Billy Tesner, Christy Tesner, and Eric Robinson, and five great grandchildren, Tyson, Bryson, Brooklyn, and Alannah Tesner, and Abigail Robinson. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Meadow Branch Baptist Church, of which she was a member.  Reverends Jessie Crisp, Onley Williams, and Noah Williams will officiate.  Burial will follow at Farley Branch Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Sunday at the church, prior to the service.
