Clarris Ann (Sheffey) Elzey

Clarris Ann Elzey, 81 of Tiger, GA., died Saturday February 24. 2018 at Mountain Lakes Medical Center, Clayton, GA.

Born in Robbinsville, NC., January 11, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Roy Kent Sheffey and Lilly Lee “Tine” Collett Sheffey. She was the widow of James Driskill Elzey, Sr. She had lived most of her life in Rabun County, and was a member of Tiger United Methodist Church for forty-one years. She was retired from the Rabun County Board of Education.

Clarris was preceded in death by her husband, by her parents, by brothers, Wade and Sheffey and sisters, Marsha Sheffey Painter and George Kent Sheffey and is survived by three sons, James Elzey, Jr. (Jan) of Rabun Gap, Hugh Elzey of Tiger and Gary Elzey (Melissa) of Tiger, one daughter, Anita Elzey of Tiger, one sister, Linda Sheffey of McCaysville, GA., and one sister-in-law, Lynn Carnow of Morganton, NC., two brothers-in-law, Welton Elzey, Jr. of Gastonia, NC., and Horace Elzey of Jefferson, SC., one grandson, Forrest Elzey and one great grandson, Perrin Elzey.

Funeral Services will be Monday, February 26, 2018, at 2:00PM, at the Tiger United Methodist Church with Rev. James E. Turpen and Rev. Sammy Maxwell officiating. Visitation will be at the Tiger United Methodist Church, Monday, February 26, 2018 from 1:00PM to 2:00PM (the funeral hour).

Burial and graveside services will be Tuesday, February 27, 2018, 2:00PM, in the Old Mother Church Cemetery in Robbinsville, NC. The body is at Hunter Funeral Home.

The family is at their respective residences.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers memorial donations be made in her memory to the Tiger United Methodist Church, PO Box 497, Tiger, GA., 30576 and/or to Gideons International, PO Box 241, Clayton, GA., 30525.
