Claude Justine Walters, 88, died peacefully at 9:35 a.m. on Sunday, December 9th, 2018. He was born on December 23rd, 1929 and graduated from Robbinsville High School in 1948. He joined the Navy at the age of 18 and served honorably for 26 years in active duty. He served in both the Korean War and the Vietnam War. He retired as Lieutenant Commander in 1974 and went to work as a systems engineer for TRW in Washington DC for another 18 years.
He was predeceased by his wife Jackie, grandson Patrick Campbell, parents Barney and Bonnie Walters, sister Tempe Williams (Harold), and brother Billy Walters (June).
Surviving are his daughters Sandy Campbell (Jeff), Mimi Walters (Cynthia), and Carla Hughes (Donnie), grandchildren Courtney Miller (Dean), Evan Hughes (Gina), Colleen Campbell, Bryce Hughes, Justine Hughes, Connor Walters, Dylan Walters, one great-grandchild, Andrew Miller, and a number of nieces and nephews.
Visitation is at Townson Smith Funeral Home from 12:00-2:00 pm on Friday, December 14th, 2018, with the service at 2:00 pm. Burial will be immediately following the service at Old Mother Church.
