Daniel Garnet Roach, age 73 of the Slay Bacon Road Community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Tuesday, August 13, 2019 at St. Josephs Hospital in Asheville, NC.

          He was a native of Clay County and the son of the late Charles VanBuren Roach and Hattie Emmaline Leatherwood Roach.

          Daniel was a Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was inducted into the service in January of 1966, serving as a Military Policeman in Germany.  After receiving a National Defense Service Medal, he was discharged to the Army Reserves until January of 1972.

          He was baptized in the Southern Baptist Faith and he loved gospel bluegrass music.  He was also a self-taught musician and was able to play any type of stringed instrument.  He was an avid fan of Nascar racing, the Atlanta Braves, and all football from High School to Pro teams.

          He was a friendly, kind & genuine person whom had many friends.  He was well loved by those who knew him but most of all Daniel was dedicated to his family and his Lord and Savior; He loved both dearly and his family are extremely thankful for having their Lord and Savior bless them with Daniel in their lives.

          He is survived by his wife, Clara Vee Denton Roach; sons and their wives, Josh Roach of Robbinsville, NC, Zack and Janie Edwards of GA, Gabe and Ally Edwards of SC; brother, Samuel Roach of Hayesville, NC; sister and brother-in-law, Rebecca and Frank Dills Jr. of Hayesville, NC; grandchildren, Blade, Tatum, and Avery Roach, Samantha and Peter Blaine Edwards and Charlie Edwards which is on the way.  He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

          Memorial Services will be held at 5:00 pm Saturday, August 17, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverend Patrick O'Dell and Zack Edwards will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother Cemetery.

          The Family will receive friends from 4:00 till 5:00 pm Saturday at the Chapel prior to the service.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Shepherd’s Chapel P.O. Box 416 Gravette, AR 72736.
