Gary Lamar Colvard

Gary Lamar Colvard, 69, of the Franks Creek Community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord early Saturday, March 2, 2019 at his residence.

A native of Graham County, he was the son of Reverend Donald Colvard of Robbinsville, NC, and the late Virginia Ruth Hardin Colvard.

Lamar was a Veteran of the United States Army serving his country proudly during the Vietnam War. 

In addition to his father, he is survived by his loving wife of 19 years, Catherine Colvard; his daughters, Tyson Colvard Goddard of Washington, Sheree Annen of Florida, Lois Nygard of Florida, and Malinda Nelson of North Dakota; his sons, Austin Williams Colvard of California, Ronnie Bailey of Pennsylvania, and Robert Lovell of Florida; his brothers, Larry Colvard of Robbinsville, NC, Tony Colvard of South Carolina, Phillip Colvard of Murphy, NC; and his sisters, Donna Adams of Ellijay, GA, and Naomi Edwards, Robbinsville, NC.  He has several grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 2:00 pm Saturday, March 9, 2019 at Sweetgum Baptist Church.  Reverend Patrick O’Dell will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 2:00 pm Saturday at the Church, prior to the service.
