Herbert "Shag" Millsaps

Herbert “Shag” Millsaps, 73, of Ryefield Road, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at his residence.

          A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Gardner and Betty Jordan Millsaps.

          Shag is survived by his loving wife of almost 50 years, Lavada Carver Millsaps; his son, Charlie Millsaps; his daughter and son in law, Missy and Todd McKeehan; his granddaughters, Abbey and Emily McKeehan; and his brothers, Hubert Millsaps and Richard Millsaps, all of Robbinsville, NC.  He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm Friday, October 12, 2018 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  His son in law, Rev. Todd McKeehan, and Reverends Phillip Ellington and Scott Roper will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 until 3:00 pm Friday at the Chapel, prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
