Hildred (Buchanan) Shuler

Hildred Buchanan Shuler, age 91 of the Tatham Road Community in Robbinsville, NC went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Sunday, November 3, 2019 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

          She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Earl and Murriel Buchanan.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brothers, Bill Buchanan, Bob Buchanan; sisters, Jean Davis, Ruth Wiggins, Kay Peek; her husband, Dillard Shuler in 2000 and her son, Darrell Shuler in 2007.

          Hildred had gentle spirit and always had a genuine and kind smile for everyone she met.  She was a loving Mother, Grandmother, and friend.  She loved spending time with her family, whom she was so proud of.  Hildred was also a lady of great faith and always gave the Lord above praise for all the blessings he had bestowed on her. She was a lifelong member of Mountain Creek Baptist Church and attended until her failing health.  Hildred will be missed but her kind and gentle nature will forever be remembered.

          She is survived by her Daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Doug Edwards of Robbinsville, NC; sister, Jo Ann Greene of Robbinsville, NC; grandchildren, Shane and Allison Edwards, Shannon and Michael Miller, John and Valinda Shuler; Great Grandchildren, Chloe Miller, Cutler and Madeline Edwards, Candler Edwards,  Gray Miller, Jayce Shuler, Logan Odom, Ivy Odom; and 1 great great grandchild, Creighton Edwards.

          Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, November 5, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Daniel Stewart and Tom Buchanan will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 till 7:00 pm at the Chapel prior to the service.

          Committal Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, November 6, 2019 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
