J.L. "Cotton" Smallwood

J.L. “Cotton” Smallwood, age 82 of Robbinsville, NC passed away Monday, June 18, 2018 at his residence.

          He was a native of Morgan County, Alabama and the son of the late Luke and Lillie Mae West Smallwood.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife and Mother of his children, Louise Shuler Smallwood in 2009, his son Bruce Smallwood in 2010, and his brother J.V. Smallwood.

          He is survived by his wife, Marion Moss Smallwood; son, Jeff Smallwood of Fowlerville, MI; Daughter and her husband, Julie and Shawn Figurski of Lampasas, TX; step children and their spouses, Keith and Pam Orr, and Donna and Rusty Williams all of Robbinsville, NC; sister, Sue Stidger of Lacy Springs, AL; grandchildren, Allan and Falon Figurski of Houston, TX, Aric and Annie Grace Figurski of College Station, TX, Amy Figurski, Anna Figurski both of Lampasas, TX, Emily Smallwood and Jesse Luke Smallwood both of Fowlerville, MI; great grandchild, Marley Mae Jackson; and his niece Kari Stidger of Lacy Springs, AL.

          Private Graveside Services were held Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  An online register is available at www.townson-smithfuneralhome.com.  Townson-Smith Funeral Home is honored to be serving the Smallwood family
