James Darrell Collins Jr. age 56 of Robbinsville went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 21, 2018 at his residence.
He was a native of Graham County and the son of James D. “Jimmy” and Roma Gail Waldroup Collins. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Jace Jenkins, his grandparents Fred and Louise Collins, Forrest Waldroup and Velma Stafford
Darrell grew up attending Lone Oak Baptist Church where he accepted the Lord as his Savior at the age of seven. He was a current member of Santeetlah Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and taught adult Sunday School. He was a faithful servant and loved serving the Lord.
Darrell battled cancer for almost 13 years. He cherished everyday and to him everyday was a beautiful day. He co-owned and operated Collins Auto Sales with his family for 33 years where he made many friends.
He was a devoted Husband, Daddy, and Papaw. His 6 precious grandchildren were the light of his life.
In addition to his parents he is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Sallie Odom Collins; daughters and their husbands, Krystina and Drew Ford, Lindsay and Coty Jenkins all of Robbinsville, NC; brother, Bo Collins of Robbinsville, NC; sisters, Sherry Williams, and Susie Beasley both of Robbinsville, NC; and his grandchildren, Reagan, Hollis, Alden, Sophia, and Isabelle; and many nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.
Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 23, 2018 at Lone Oak Baptist Church. The Reverend William Wayne Adams will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 till 7:00 pm Tuesday at the Church prior to the service.
Committal Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
