James Edward Hollifield

James Edward Hollifield, age 83 of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Friday, August 30, 2019 at Harris Regional Hospital in Sylva, NC.

He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Jerry Alfred Hollifield and Iva Lee Williams Hollifield.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Arthur Hollifield and his wife, Arbutus Turpin Hollifield in February of 2012.

Edward was an active member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for 26 years and a Church Choir Leader and guitarist for almost 50 years.

He is survived by his daughters, Barbara Holder of Robbinsville, NC; Lisa Holden of Charlotte, NC; and granddaughter, Lacey Holden.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, September 2, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Onley Williams and Lance Burke will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm Monday at the Chapel prior to the service.
