James "Jim" Vaughn

Rev. James Vaughn, 93, of Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 11, 2018 at Jefferson City Health and Rehabilitation Center in Jefferson City, TN.

          He was a native of Buncombe county and the son of the late Henry and Cora Vaughn.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Frances Green Vaughn; his sons, Raymond Vaughn, Kie Vaughn and his daughter Patricia Bowers.

          He is survived by his grandchildren and their spouses, Kim and Leo Craig, Arvil Jr. and Christy Bowers, Stephanie Bean, Melissa and Shane Edmonds, Anthony and Melissa Vaughn, Megan Vaughn, Chris Bridges; his great grandchildren, Shelby and Daniel Bowers, Devin and Trevor Divine, Caroline Bean, Darien and Cason Vaughn, Cherry Vaughn; his son-in-law, Arvil Bowers Sr. of Bryson City, NC, and Special Friend, Emma Wilson.

          Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, January 13, 2018 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverend Mickey Stewart will officiate.  Burial will follow at Old Mother Cemetery where Military Rites will be conducted by the NC National Guard Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00 pm at the Chapel, prior to the service.
