Jean Hooper Robinson

Jean Hooper Robinson, age 87, of the Snowbird community of Robbinsville, NC was taken into the arms of Jesus on, Monday, October 16, 2017 at her residence.

          She was a native of Graham county and the daughter of Jason Newton Hooper and Winnie Collins Hooper.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Robinson and her son, Ronnie Robinson.

          She was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who adored her family and friends.  She was a lifelong member of Mt. Nebo Baptist Church that loved the Lord and her church family.  She never met a stranger and gave generously to her family and community.  She operated Robinson Grocery for 36 years and was a pillar of the community who never let anyone leave her business or her home hungry.  

          She is survived by her son and his wife, Earl and Barbara Robinson of Robbinsville, NC; daughter and her husband, Ruth and Jimmy Brown of Kings Mtn. NC, daughter, Gina Robinson and her fiancé, Jeff Cody of Kings, Mtn., NC; daughter-in-law, Deborah Robinson of Robbinsville, NC; brother, Harold Hooper of Cape Coral, FL; sisters, Edna Sue Hooper of Andrews, NC, and Jeanette Cable of Robbinsville, NC.  She is also survived by 8 grandchildren, Brian and Sherra Cochran, Kevin and Pilar Brown, Glisha and Bryan Williams, Carissa Robinson and her fiancé Patrick Cable, Rhonda and Travis Garrett, Chelsea and Justin Clark, Chase Robinson, and Trenton Crisp; and 11 great grandchildren.

            Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Wednesday, October 18, 2017 at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church.  The Reverends James York, J.B. Smith, and Harold Hooper will officiate.  Burial will follow the services at Carver Cemetery.  Mrs. Robinson will lie in state at the Church 30 minutes prior to the service.

          Family will receive friends from 5:00 till 7:00 pm Tuesday, October 17, 2017 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.
