Kenneth M Burchfield

Kenneth M. Burchfield, 77, of the Upper Tuskeegee Community near Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 4, 2018, at his residence while surrounded by his family.

          A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Samuel and Effie Prince Burchfield.

          A diehard North Carolina Tarheel fan, Kenneth also loved fishing, hunting and good food.  But above all, he loved the time he spent with his family.

          He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Antoinette Corbin Burchfield; his children and their spouses, Tanya and Kenny Rhea of Johnson City, TN, Kenny Burchfield of Robbinsville, NC, and Melissa and Monty Holder, of Robbinsville, NC; his brother, Geter Burchfield of Stecoah, NC; his sisters, Axie Lee Garland of Stecoah, NC, Nettie Cable of Webster, NC, and Clella Grindstaff and Barbara Self of Elizabethton, TN.  He has 7 grandchildren, Ashley Wiggins, Brian Rhea, Hunter Burchfield, Samantha McCollum, Stacey Burchfield, Zoe Burchfield, and Elyse Burchfield, and 3 great grandchildren, Parker Wiggins, Rilee Belcher, and Alaya Brewer.

          Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Friday, June 8, 2018, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Tom Buchanan, Coy Adams, and Jessie Crisp will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Friday at the Chapel, prior to the service.  Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Metz Cemetery.
