Lois Amanda (Grindstaff) Almond

Lois Grindstaff Almond, 95, of Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 7, 2019 at The Hayesville House in Hayesville, NC. 

A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Cora Ellis Grindstaff.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bruner Almond, her sons in law, Jason Burleson and Ronald Ball, and all of her siblings, Lewis Grindstaff, Luther Grindstaff, Leonard Grindstaff, Lyle Grindstaff, Ruth West, and Helen Bradley. 

Lois was a loving and devoted mother and a dedicated member of Calvary Baptist Church. 

She is survived by her daughters and son in law, Wilma Burleson of Gastonia, NC, Nancy Almond of Hayesville, NC, and Wendy and Steve Millsaps of Robbinsville, NC; her sons and daughters in law, Carroll and Shirley Almond of Demorest, GA, and Ronnie and D.J. Almond of Upper Marlboro, MD.  She has six grandchildren, Danny Almond, Stephanie Duncan, John Burleson, Teresa Stacy, Monica Arroyo, and Amanda Hope Harless.  Her great grandchildren are Austin Swartz, Aidyn McGrady, Emma Harless and Ella Harless.  Lois is also survived by her special nieces, Louise Jordan and Mildred Hooper, in addition to other many nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm July 10, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  Reverend David Anderson will officiate.  Burial will follow at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm at the Chapel, prior to the service.
