Mary Theresa (Drugonis) Wilcox

Mary Theresa Drugonis Wilcox left this world for her heavenly home on Wednesday, August 7, 2019. 

She was born on May 22, 1961 in Waterbury, CT, to Jerry and Arline Drugonis.   

 In addition to her parents, Mary is survived by her husband of 21 years, Thomas Denton Wilcox; her brothers, Christopher Drugonis and his wife, AnnMarie, and Matthew Drugonis; her step daughter, Jordan Wilcox Welch and husband, CJ, of Robbinsville, NC; her granddaughter, Woodleigh Welch, of Robbinsville, NC; her mother in law, Leota Denton Wilcox, of Robbinsville, NC; her sisters in law, Vicki Wilcox Rhyne of Salisbury, NC and Donna Wilcox Lewis and husband, Jim, of Chapel Hill, NC; her nephew, Victor Lewis; and nieces, Meredith Lewis and Alana Drugonis.   

Mary loved spending time with her famiy and many friends.  She especially cherished her role as Nana to Woodleigh and mother to her many “fur babies.”  Mary loved her Snowbird home and community.  She was always available with a smile and a true helping hand.  Mary will be dearly missed by all fortunate enough to know her and feel her warm, loving spirit.  She bravely was a seven-year cancer survivor, encouraging many others during her journey. 

A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, August 10, 2019 at Cedar Cliff Baptist Church at 12:00 pm.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm at the church prior to the service.
