Opal Lowanda (Hooper) Postell

Opal Hooper Postell, 76, of Andrews, NC, formerly of Robbinsville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 27, 2019 at Valley View Care Center in Andrews, NC. 

A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late John Ben and Laura Edna Thompson Hooper.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Postell, and her brother, Clarence Hooper. 

Opal is survived by her brother and sister in law, Johnny and Ann Hooper of Topton, NC, and her brothers, James Hooper of Andrews, NC, and Richard Hooper of Hampstead, MD; her sister, Laquita Waldroup of Robbinsville, NC, and sister and brother in law, Mary Ruth and Jack Eastwood of Gastonia, NC; her sister in law, Linda West Hooper of Peachtree, NC; and her brother in law, Jerry Postell of Robbinsville, NC.   She also has several nieces and nephews. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 29, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  Reverends Daniel Stewart, Wayne McGuire, and Steve West will officiate.  Burial will follow at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Chapel, prior to the service.
