Ralph Burder Shope

Ralph Burder Shope, 90, of the Cochran’s Creek Community in Robbinsville, NC went home to be with Jesus early Sunday, December 15, 2019 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation. 

A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Rev. Burder and Deedie Phillips Shope.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Zetta Jones, Mexie Jenkins, Rena Dale, and JoAnn Crisp, and his brothers, Zeb, Thad, Ted and John Shope. 

Ralph is survived by his Wife, Deloris Moody Shope; son, Joe Shope; and his sisters, Wanda Brooks of Robbinsville, NC, and Naomi Rogers of Alabama.  He leaves a host of nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at Santeetlah Baptist Church, of which he was a longtime member.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 2:00 pm at the Church, prior to the services.  Reverend William Wayne Adams will officiate.  Burial will follow at Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery.
