Rita Sawyer Cunningham

Rita Sawyer Cunningham, 65, of the Cochrans Creek Community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, January 8, 2018 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

          A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Burlin and Marilyn Wilson Sawyer.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Cunningham, and her sister, Kathy Atwell.

          She is survived by her son and daughter in law, Scott and Debbie Jenkins of Robbinsville, NC; her daughter, Lisa Jenkins of Robbinsville, NC; her step sons and their wives, Todd and Karen Cunningham, and Scott and Kim Cunningham, all of Robbinsville, NC; her nephew, Shane Atwell and her niece, Treva Adams, both of Robbinsville, NC.  She has 3 grandchildren, Colby Blevins, Candace Jordan, and Anna Blevins, and 6 step grandchildren, Lora Orr, Courtney Turner, Mitzi Walker, Caleb Cunningham, Jill Barlow and Eva Culbreth.  She has 12 great grandchildren.

          Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, January 11, 2018 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverend Daniel Stewart will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm Thursday at the Chapel, prior to the service.  Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 12, 2018 at the Wall Family Cemetery.
