Robert Larry Trantham

          Robert “Larry” Trantham, 73, of Almond, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, February 23, 2018 at his residence.

          He was born in Haywood County and was the son of the late Marion and Virginia Welch Trantham. 

          Larry was a Veteran of the US Army.  He walked around with a song in his heart and was loved by all who knew him.

          He is survived by his wife, Maria Pointke Trantham; his sons and daughter in law, Greg Trantham and Allen and Lisa Trantham, all of Canton, NC; his daughters and son in law, Cindy Trantham of Canton, NC, and Amy and Chuck Metcalf of Old Fort, NC; his step sons, Eric Bryan of Sylva, NC, and Phillip Thomas of Almond, NC; and his sister, Martha Brown of Chuckey, TN.  His grandchildren are Cody Wright and his fiancée, Kyree Moore, Chloe Trantham, Marshall Hall, Taylor Trantham, and Coleman Metcalf.  He has three great grandchildren, Keyona Wright, Tierra Wright, and Rylan Wright.

          Funeral services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, February 27, 2018 at Eternal Believers Baptist Church, of which he was a member.  The Reverend Grant Burke will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 pm at the Church, prior to the service.  Committal services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, February 28, 2018 at Lower Panther Creek Cemetery.
