Timothy Orr Ditmore

Timothy Orr Ditmore, age 59 went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Monday, May 6, 2019 at the Veterans Hospital Hospice Unit in Asheville, NC.

          He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late George W. Ditmore and Patsy Orr Martin.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Blaine (Eddie) Ditmore and his step father, Harold Martin.

          Tim was a Veteran who served in the United States Marine Corps.  He loved his country and was proud of it.  He was a beloved brother who was loved by his family and friends. 

          Tim was a great story teller who passed on much history from his family.  He had a great sense of humor and loved to tell jokes.  Everyone who knew Tim knew his love of Nascar racing and especially the Legendary race car driver, Dale Earnhardt.

          He is survived by his brothers, Terrill “Terry” Ditmore of Baton Rouge, LA, Tommy Joe Martin (Tammy) of Robbinsville, NC; sisters, Patty McCollum (Ed) of Robbinsville, NC, Georgina Carringer of Lebanon, TN, and Cheryl Lynn McClure (Doyle) of Marble, NC.  He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews, 23 great nieces and nephews, and a great great niece and nephew.

          A Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  Reverend Tommy Joe Martin will officiate. Military Honors and Flag Presentation will be conducted by the NC National Guard Honor Guard.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 7:00 pm Monday at the Chapel prior to the service.
