Timothy Lee Mehaffey

Timothy Lee Mehaffey, 41, of Robbinsville, NC, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2018 at his residence.

          He was born in Swain County and was the son of Leonard and Meredith Ann Cook Mehaffey.   

          Tim was a graduate of Robbinsville High School and Western Carolina University.  He loved working with kids and was able to make tremendous impacts of many of their lives.  He was greatly loved by his family and friends.

          In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Michelle Stewart Mehaffey; his sister, Robin Mehaffey Elliott; his nephews, Sean Elliott and Will Elliott; his step son, Blake Marino; his step daughter, Brittney Edwards; his aunts, Gaynell Dockery, Iris Parker, Cindy Campbell, Doris Stinnett, Sharon Puckett, and Linda Cook; his uncles Larry Cook, David Cook, and Keith Cook; and his step grandchildren, Blyth Marino, Woodson Edwards, Ithaka Edwards, and Zerelda Edwards.  He also has several cousins and many, many friends.

          He was preceded in death by his aunt Doris Killian.

          Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Friday, February 9, 2018 at Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Reverend Dana Dockery will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Tim's memory to the Robbinsville Elementary School c/o Guidance Office, 54 Moose Branch Road, Robbinsville, NC 28771 to help some of the children that he loved, or to a local charity of your choice in memory of Tim.
