Vernell Carver (Hooper) Colvard

Vernell Colvard, age 92 of the Franks Creek Community of Robbinsville, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, March 18, 2018 at her residence.

          She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Blanton Hooper.  In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by the father of her children, Gwyn Carver in March of 1973.

          She is survived by her husband, Rev. Donald Colvard; sons and their wives, Lamar and Sandra Carver, Alan and Peggy Carver both of Robbinsville, NC; daughters and their husbands, Dottie and Sonny Vuick of Aiken, SC, Ruby and Jim Lequire of Penrose, NC; Donald’s children and their spouses, Lamar and Cathy Colvard, Larry and Juanita Colvard both of Robbinsville, NC, Tony and Angie Colvard of York, SC, Phillip Colvard of Murphy, NC, Donna and David Adams of Ellijay, GA and Naomi and Joe Edwards of Robbinsville, NC; and sister, Mary Lou Parker of Georgia.  She is also survived by 29 grandchildren, and several great and great great grandchildren.

          Funeral Services will be held at 7:00 pm Tuesday, March 20, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church.  The Reverends Mickey Stewart and J.B. Smith will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 5:00 till 7:00 pm at the Church prior to the service.

          Committal Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, March 21, 2018 at New Hope Baptist Church Cemetery.
