Willa Mae (Orr) Carringer

Willa Mae Orr Carringer, 94, of Robbinsville, NC went home to be with the Lord on March 13, 2019.

A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Jake and Ethel Stratton Orr.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Wayne Carringer, in July 2018; her brothers, Hubert Orr, Rev. Jay Orr, and Burl Orr; and her sister, Patsy Orr.

Willa Mae is survived by her children and their spouses, Pamela and Morris Moody, of Robbinsville, NC, Dr. Jerry and Margaret Carringer of Buford, GA, and Chip and Yvette Carringer of Robbinsville, NC; and her brother, Lamar Orr of Knoxville, TN.  She has seven grandchildren, Robert (Lendy) and Russell (Teresa) Moody, Taylor (Mandi) and Tucker (Shannon) Carringer, and Sara, Leah, and Seth Carringer, and step grandchildren, Mandy Moore and Chris Shields, and four great grandchildren, Sydney, Tori, Garrett, and Koda Moody.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, March 15, 2019 at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 until 1:00pm at the Chapel, prior to the service.  Committal services will follow at Old Mother Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Willa Mae’s memory.
