Willene (Smith) McMonigle

Willene Smith McMonigle, 76, of the Long Branch Community in Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 11, 2018 at her residence.

          A native of Graham County, she was the daughter of the late Carlos and Inez Cable Smith.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene McMonigle, and her brothers, Wallace Smith, Ted Smith, and Doyle Smith.

          Willene had a gentle spirit and quiet demeanor that endeared her to all who knew her.  She always wore a genuine and kind smile.  She was a lady of great faith and was devoted to her church and her family.  She also loved cooking, sewing, and spending time with her family and friends.

          She is survived by her children and their spouses, Steve and Angela McMonigle of Lakeland, Florida, and Christy and Jeff Shuler of Knoxville, TN.  Willene has 4 grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Blake and West Shuler and CiCi and Gabe McMonigle.  She is also survived by her sisters in law, Nancy Smith of GA, Mattie Goodwin of Fayetteville, GA; brothers in law and their spouses, Charles "Sonny Boy" and Shirley McMonigle of Severn, MD, Dee and Iris McMonigle of Newnan, GA; and many nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.

          Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 16, 2018 at Lone Oak Baptist Church.  The Reverend David Anderson and Shane McMonigle will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 2:00 pm Tuesday at the Church prior to the service.

          Willene had a servant's heart and always placed others before herself.  In her honor the family requests that in lieu of flowers, you commit a random act of kindness, or give to someone in need.  Donations can also be made to the Bible Ministry at Calvary Baptist Church, P.O.
