Alvin Eugene Phillips, 86, of Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, February 22, 2020 at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
A native of Graham County, he was the son of the late Henry and Ethel Roberts Phillips. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Emogene Carpenter Phillips; his daughters, Ellen Phillips and Karen Phillips Webster; his sons, David Phillips and Michael Phillips; his sisters, Jessie Mae Grindstaff, Bunavee Carpenter, Alowayne Smith, and Patty Sue Phillips; and his brothers, Herbert Phillips, Emmett Phillips, and Don Phillips.
He is survived by his daughter and son in law, Sandy and Gary Williams, of Robbinsville, NC, and his son and daughter in law, Darrell and Jamie Phillips, of Robbinsville, NC; his sisters, Edna Cox and Ann Keith; and his brother, James Phillips. He has 11 grandchildren and several great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, February 24, 2020 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Reverends Patrick O’Dell and Tom Buchanan will officiate. Masonic Rites will be conducted by Robbinsville Masonic Lodge #672. Burial will follow at Old Mother Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm Monday, at the Chapel, prior to the service.
