Betty Burchfield

Betty Balek Burchfield, 86 of Clover, SC passed away, Friday, January 9, 2026, at Caromont Regional in Gastonia, NC.

She was born in Lawton, ND to the late Anton Thomas and Emily Hurda Balek.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Burchfield in September of 2000, and her brother, Richard Anton Balek in January of 2021.

She is survived by her daughters, Lori Burchfield Chapman of Clover, SC, Vicky Burchfield Tolson (James) of Melbourne, FL, and Toni Burchfield Barnes (Greg) of York, SC. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, Nichole Zajac, Erica Frazier, Calvin Chapman, Evan Chapman, James Tyler Tolson, Jonathan Thomas Tolson, Tiffany Buttereit, Joshua Barnes, Justin Barnes, and 19 great grandchildren, 1 nephew and 2 nieces.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, January 15, 2026, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 1:00 pm at the chapel prior to the service.
