Betty Crisp, age 87, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at the University of Tennessee Hospital.
She was born to the late Hardy and Aloe Carpenter. She was the beloved wife of the late Harold Crisp. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Larry Crisp; and her siblings, Harold, Alawayne, Virgis, and Bluford Carpenter.
She is survived by her son, Gary Crisp and his wife, Jeanie; her grandchildren, Titus Crisp and his wife, Amanda, and their three sons, Walker, Aiden, and Ethan; Courtney Cable and her husband, Jed, and their four children, Cassidy, Mackenzie, Brooklynn, and Tobias; and Morgan Reed and her husband, Cody, and their three daughters, Claire, Reagan, and Katie.
She is also survived by her siblings, Clinton Carpenter, Avery Carpenter, Mary Rogers, David Carpenter, and her sister-in-law, Beatrice Carpenter.
Mrs. Crisp was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She had a special love for caring for her flowers and found joy in the simple beauty of God’s creation. Her life was marked by her love for her family and her faith in the Lord.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am Wednesday, May 6, 2026, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Her Grandson, Rev. Titus Crisp and Rev. Jimmy Millsaps will officiate. Burial will follow the services at the Old Mother Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 till 8:00 pm Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.
