Boyd Rufus Adams, 70, of Robbinsville, passed away peacefully at his residence on September 29, 2025. He was born on September 17, 1955, to the late Hub and Mabel Adams.
Boyd is survived by his devoted wife of 50 years, Louise Long Adams; brother Ray & wife Connie Adams; his two sons, James Adams and Tommy Adams (Andrea Adams); and his four grandchildren, Reece, Brock, Kayleigh, and Bryce, whom he loved dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Nettie Phillips; his nephew, Coy Phillips; and his daughter-in-law, Kathy Adams.
A hardworking man, Boyd spent many years in construction. He also had a love for mechanics and cherished time riding his Harley. His sons fondly recall his enjoyment of cutting, splitting, and stacking firewood. Boyd rarely missed a Black Knights ballgame and enjoyed every chance to cheer them on. He was known for his sense of humor, always “cutting up” with his buddies, and creating laughter wherever he went.
Faith played an important role in Boyd’s life. He loved his church and church family at Long Creek Baptist Church, where he served faithfully as a deacon.
Boyd will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A Celebration of Life at Long Creek Baptist Church will be scheduled at a later date.
Townson-Smith Funeral Home is honored to serve the Adams family.
