Brenda (Grant) Atwell

Brenda Atwell age 75, beloved Mother and Nana went home to be with Our Lord and Savior Friday, December 20, 2024, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.

          She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Mack and Berta Duvall Grant.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine Sawyer, Mary Jane James, and brother, Bill Grant.

          Brenda was a mother, Nana, and Friend to many.  She was also everyone’s Nana, she loved spending time drinking coffee and playing with her grandboys, Bowen and Branch.  Brenda will be greatly missed but we have peace in knowing that we will see her again someday.

          She is survived by her daughters, Candace Odom (Scott), Heather Gibby (Randy); grandchildren, Ty Odom (Brittany), Alexa Jackson (Jimmy), Storm Gibby (Rainie), Trey Odom, Scott Gibby (Lacey), Caitlin Lovingood (Derrick); great grandchildren, Bowen, Branch, Benton, Lawten, Wyleigh, Grady, Rowen, Rhet, Serenity; and brother, Mackie Grant (Jean).

          Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, December 28, 2024, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverend Jim Postell will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at Lower Yellow Creek Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm Saturday at the Chapel prior to the service.
