With deep sorrow but unwavering faith, we announce the passing of Carol Sue Pfister Rogers, who entered into the presence of our Lord on February 1, 2025. Carol was born on October 21, 1944, in New Albany, Indiana, to Margaret Bundren Pfister and Donald Lee Pfister.
Carol was a devoted Christian who cherished the Word of God and the teachings of Jesus Christ. She lived out her steadfast faith daily, exemplifying kindness, wisdom, grace, and an unwavering love for those around her, always selflessly trying to help others in tough situations. She was so giving and thoughtful and full of compassion. Her presence brought warmth and joy, touching the lives of everyone she met. Her unwavering trust in the Lord was evident in every aspect of her life, and her gentle spirit reflected the love and grace of Christ. Proverbs 31:10-31 describes her well, and as the scripture says, her children arise up and call her blessed; her husband also and he praiseth her.
She met her childhood sweetheart, Richard W. Rogers (Dick), when she was 13 years old at First Baptist Church of Green Hills, Ohio, pastored by Richard’s father. Five years later, they married and continued building a beautiful life together, filled with love, adventure, and faith. Their union was blessed with five children, 17 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren—each a testament to the love and legacy she leaves behind.
Carol found her greatest joy in being a homemaker, wife, mother and Grammy—a role in which she was a natural. Though she held various jobs throughout her life, nothing compared to the fulfillment of caring for her home and family. She had a natural gift for making a house a home, filling it with warmth, creativity, and love through her passion for sewing, decorating, and cooking old family recipes and new recipes alike leaving behind memories that will be carried on through the generations.
Traveling with her husband Dick at the wheel was one of her favorite pastimes. She was always planning their next big adventure and together they shared many, many trips from the time they were newlyweds. From Spain to the Bahamas and all over the United States, Canada and British Columbia. They created so many memories together exploring the beauty of God’s creation.
Carol leaves behind a void that her family cannot fill, but they take comfort in knowing she is rejoicing in Heaven, reunited with her parents Donald and Margeret Pfister, brother Donald Pfister II, Nephew Donald Pfister III and two grandsons Jordan Rogers and Jerod Tabor. She is survived by her loving husband, Richard W. Rogers, their five children: Richard (Imelda) Rogers, Timothy (Karen) Rogers, Sharon Rogers, Deborah (David) Goodwin, and Robin Rogers; sister Karen (Jim) Sanford brother Steve (Sandy) Pfister; 15 grandchildren: Ashley (Ryan) Goodwin, Lauren Rogers, Aaron Conkel, Andrea Williams, Shelbie (Kory) Keylon, David (Amanda) Goodwin, Adriana (Derrell) Holland, Riley Conkel, Bailey Conkel, Nathan Tabor, Corey Conkel, Nicole Rogers, Scarlet Rogers, Bryce Rogers, Kate Rogers, and Liam Rogers. And 15 great-grandchildren: Khloe Goodwin, Spencer Hutchinson, Steven Kurilla, Asher Hutchinson, Gunner Rogers, Reese Keylon, Rowdie Keylon, Aiden Holland, Arrayah Holland, Racie Roux Keylon, Dallas Barnes, Wyatt Conkel, Brantin Goodwin, Westyn Conkel, and Winston Goodwin. Her niece Alyssa Pfister and Nephew Sean Pfister and many cousins.
Though our hearts ache in her absence, we rejoice knowing that she is now in the arms of her Savior. Carol’s love, faith, and devotion to her family will forever remain in the hearts of those she leaves behind. A service to celebrate her life will be held at Lone Oak Baptist Church in Robbinsville, NC on Saturday, February 15, 2025, at 2:00 pm.
"Well done, good and faithful servant… Enter into the joy of your Lord." – Matthew 25:23
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” Jeremiah 29:11
Several things have rested in her mind since she gave her heart to Jesus Christ. The Bible is very clear about certain things. She read and was clear about certain verses and she would often share them with others.
“That by believing in Him all things are possible” Now to Him who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us. -Ephesians 3:20
John 3:16 Jesus died on the cross for each one of our sins, so that through Him we could have forgiveness and eternal life with Him.
In John 8:32 it says, “And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.”
And in John 3:5-7, Jesus said, “Very truly I tell you, no one can enter the Kingdom of God unless they are born of water (a natural birth), and the Spirit (Born again). Flesh gives birth to flesh but the Spirit gives birth to the Spirit. You should not be surprised at my saying, “You must be born again.”
Prayer: Dear God, I feel like I don’t really know you but I would like you to change that in me. In Jesus name I come to you as a sinner, I ask you to forgive me of my unbelief and forgive me of my sins, I do believe that just one drop of Jesus blood can wash my sins away and make me a new man. I believe you died on the cross for my sins, and on the 3rd day you rose from the grave, and one day soon you will return for me and all those who are watching for your return. I believe you have a plan for my life. Right now, come into my heart, wash me clean, as white as snow, make me a new person. And I ask this in the name of Jesus. Amen.
By praying that prayer, if you meant it in your heart, you are Born Again. You are a new person in Christ Jesus. Praise God.
