D.L. Orr

Reverend D.L. Orr 83, passed away at home Monday, March 10, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones.

He was born on June 25, 1941, to the late Dallas Lee and Mattie Orr. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Mary Margaret Orr, son; Perry Millsaps, daughters; Debbie Carpenter, Michelle Samples and Pamela Patterson; brothers Emmett Orr and Nolan (Nancy) Orr; grandchildren, Shannon Millsaps, Bobby Millsaps, Christopher Orr and Felipe Tello.

D.L. was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He loved to garden, cook and spend time with his family. He is survived by his children Jennifer (Allen) Dockery of Robbinsville, NC, Jonathan (Barbara) Orr of Maryville, TN, and Patrick (Angela) Orr of Robbinsville, NC; sons-in-law Conway Patterson and Jack Carpenter. D L has 14 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be, Scott, Randy, Tyler, Luke, Tanner, Tommy, Will and Allen.

Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverends James Blevins and Phillip Helton will officiate. Burial will follow in the Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 11 till 1:00 prior to the service.
