David Cobb Roshto, 81 of Dacula, GA, passed away, Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his family.
He was born May 5, 1944, to Mitchell and Gladys Sizemore Roshto in Pineville, LA. He was the last child born of 19 children. He made a significant impact on all who witnessed his birth; he weighed only 14lbs.and 7oz. His sister Joy, the only living sibling, had the privilege of naming him. From the beginning of his life to the end, he continued making an impact on everyone he met.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Mundi Renee Martin and 17 siblings.
David immensely loved his wife of 28 ½ years, Mildred Stratton Roshto, his son, Martin David Roshto, his family, his friends, and his Lord. He is also survived by 3 stepchildren, 5 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and 11 step great grandchildren and the mother of his children, Faye B. Murphy.
David was Patriotic to his country, serving in the United States Navy and Army. He was a Veteran of the Vietnam War having served his country from 1963 till 1968.
He grew up in the Rigolette Community taking part with his family and community in carpentry, farming, gardening, raising chickens, pigs, and other livestock. It was in his blood, and he continued enjoying these childhood memories throughout his life always working on a project. In fact, his latest project was building a privacy fence using wood that his neighbor graciously gave him. He was known for his funny jokes and stories resulting in him joining in the laughter. One of the ways he expressed his love to his family and friends was by the enjoyable acts of kindness shown through the sharing of treasures he took pleasure in finding. From stuffed animals to singing monkeys, to beautiful flowerpots, plants, clothes, tools, and treasurable items. He also had a passion for exploring ancient castles in Europe. He guided 3 of his sisters on a trip of their lifetime, sharing his passion with them.
David was a fighter, and through his battle with cancer, he never complained about his plot in life. His son, Martin David, often said, “He was the strongest man he knew!” He exemplified I Thessalonians 5:18, “In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus Concerning you.” The positive impact he exemplified will continue to live on in our hearts forever.
