Deborah Jean (Nidy) Bowen

Deborah Jean Bowen, age 69 passed away on August 9, 2021, at her home in Almond, NC. Deborah (Debbie) retired from the United States Postal Service after 20 years working in Almond, Whitter and the surrounding communities. She was a loving wife, mother, sister and a friend to many. Debbie was an ardent advocate for Ocular Melanoma awareness and prevention, the disease and resulting metastasis which ultimately took her life. 

Debbie is survived by her daughter Dianna of Asheville, her sister Pam Coffman and brother Bruce Nidy of Florida, and by a large extended family and many close friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Dennis Bowen.

Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life honoring Debbie on Saturday, August 28, 2021, 11:00 AM EST at her home 3788 NC HWY 28 North, Almond, NC. Light refreshments will follow.

In lieu of flowers, the family has respectfully asked that donations be made in her name to the Atlanta Hospital Hospitality House, 1815 S. Ponce de Leon Ave. NE Atlanta, GA 30307 or to hospice at Four Seasons Foundation, 211 N. Main St., Hendersonville NC 28792.
