Delora (Waldroup) Buchanan

Delora Buchanan, 90 of Robbinsville, NC passed away Friday, March 29, 2024, at her residence surrounded by her family.

          She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Posey and Myrtle Phillips Waldroup.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lynn Buchanan in September of 2007; son-in-law, Aquilla Phillips; and 2 siblings.

          She is survived by her daughters, Karen Phillips, Michele Buchanan both of Robbinsville, NC; sons, Micky Buchanan (Mary Ann) of Robbinsville, NC, Philip Buchanan (Elaina) of Atlanta, GA; sisters, Annetta Lovin Wilson, Mary Lee Blevins, Drucilla Parton, Donna Kay Adams all of Robbinsville, NC; and brother, David Waldroup of Maryland.  She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jill Thompson, Ashton Nichols, Dayton Hall, Nikki Buchanan, Jessica Buchanan, Montana Buchanan, Allison Sawyer, Sydney Buchanan; 10 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.

          Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 3, 2024, at Mountain Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.  The Reverend Eric Sellers will officiate.  The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 1:45 pm at the Townson-Smith Chapel prior to the Graveside.
