Dennis Eugene Nelms

Dennis Eugene Nelms 72 of the Snowbird Community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Saturday, December 30, 2023, at Swain Medical Center in Bryson City, NC.

          He was a native of Graham County and the son of the late Eugene and Thetus Brooks Nelms.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Gavene Collins, and infant sister, Sharlene Nelms.

          He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Darrell and Mary Nelms of Robbinsville, NC; sisters and brothers-in-law, Patsy Nelms and Bob Lyerly of Bradenton, FL, Robin and Ned Long of Robbinsville, NC and several nieces and nephews.

          Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, January 5, 2024, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  His nephew, Shane McMonigle and Reverend Brian Stevens will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother Cemetery.

          The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm Friday at the Chapel prior to the service.
