Earl D. Watts, 89, of Robbinsville, NC went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 23, 2021, at Novant Health Center in Charlotte, NC.
A native of Florida, Earl was the son of the late Vernon and Gladys Woodruff Watts. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by first wife, Beatrice Watts; his brothers, Vernon “Buddy” Watts, and Eugene Watts; and his sisters, Vanita “Toy” Boyd, Evelyn Della Vedova, and Ellen Colina.
Earl was an electrician by trade and operated Sparky Watts Electric for many years. He came to Graham County many years ago and fell in love with the simplicity and beauty of Graham County. He was a dedicated member of Cedar Cliff Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Minnie Jo Hedrick Watts; his daughters and sons in law, Susan Garrison (Steve) of Juniper. FL, and Tina Carver (David) of Robbinsville, NC; his sons and daughters in law, Earl Watts, Jr. (Diane) of Charlotte, NC, Ronnie Hedrick (Terry), and Wayne Duvall (Yvonne), all of Lakeland, FL; and his sister, June Ryan of Wellington, FL. His grandchildren are Jeffrey Zmistowski, Maria Mitchell, Rachel Ayers, Ronnie Hedrick II, Jessie Hedrick, Abbie Bannister, Carlton Duvall, and Koty Burdette. He has several great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 26, 2021, at Carver Cemetery. Reverends Daniel Stewart and Brian Stevens will officiate.
Due to the risk of exposure to COVID 19, facial coverings and social distancing are required for those attending the service.
