Mrs. Edna Hampton, age 73, of Robbinsville, North Carolina, passed away peacefully on May 27, 2026, at UT Hospital.
Born on February 20, 1953, in Robbinsville, North Carolina, Edna was a lifelong resident of the community she loved and proudly called home. Edna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend. Family was the center of Edna's life. She was always there for the people she loved, and her kindness and love will never be forgotten.
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Sellers and Mary Carver and Arnold Carver; her sisters, Jean Rayner and Myrtle McGaha; and her brother, Ernie Sellers.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Roy Hampton; her children, Dedie Barker (David), Mitchell Millsaps (Jessica), Josh Hampton (Samantha)and Katie Hampton; her grandchildren, Alissa Cable, Tanner Posey, Colton Millsaps, Anna and Triton Williams, Annslee Hampton, Jase Gramany, Kix and Layla Barker ; seven great-grandchildren; and her niece, Danielle Reiner, whom she helped raise and loved as one of her own. She also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Edna found joy in the simple things in life. She loved fishing, spending time at the lake, and making memories with those she loved most. Nothing brought her greater happiness than being surrounded by family. Whether gathered for holidays, family dinners, or quiet visits, she treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and loved ones.
Edna will be remembered for her loving heart, kind spirit, and the joy she brought to those around her. She had a special way of making everyone feel welcome, valued, and loved. While she will be greatly missed, her family finds comfort in the many memories they shared and the love she leaves behind.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, June 1, 2026, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Reverends Onley Williams and Teddy Silvers will officiate. Burial will follow the service at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm till 2:00 pm Monday at the chapel prior to the service.
