Edward Fritz Jones

Edward F. Jones, of Lancing, TN, went home to be with the Lord, Sunday, May 11, 2025.

          Ed was the son of the late Will (Red) Jones and Lora B. Jones.  Edward married Bennie Lee Smith in Laurens, SC and was blessed with 40 years of marriage until her passing in 2006 ; he was also preceded in death by his brothers, Keith Jones, Albert Jones, Bill Jones, Paul Jones, Jack Jones; sisters, Bernice Jones, Farice Rhea Richburg; brothers and sisters-in-law, Oliver and Willa Bell Pinson, Jimmy and Mildred Smith, Roy and Patricia Smith.

          Ed served in the United States Army and was a proud Veteran.  He also had a long career with National Starch in Indianapolis, IN as a pipefitter and machinist.  His zest for life was contagious, he loved racing jeeps, building street rods and had a passion for anything with a motor.  He enjoyed gardening, being outdoors and even making a little moonshine.  Helping others with any kind of project brought him great joy.  He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.

          He is survived by his son, Don Jones (Amy), grandchildren, Fontana Jones (Kevin Moritz), Holly Jones; great grandchildren, Aubrey Price, Levi Moritz; brother, Carson Davis; brothers and sisters-in-law, J.B. and Shirley Smith, Harold Smith, Ronnie and Phyllis Jordan, Kenneth and Deannie Wiggins, David and Ida King; as well as several nieces and nephews.

          Also special to his life was his dear niece Betty Sue Word (Wayne) and his dear friends, Pat Branson and her sons Eric and Bryan and Ed Carlton.

          Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Friday, May 16, 2025, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  Ronnie Jordan and David King will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at Carver Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 11:00 am till 12:00 pm Friday at the Chapel prior to the service.
