Edwin "Dale" George

     Edwin "Dale" George, 82, of Gastonia, NC, was born in Knoxville, TN, to Thomas "Malcolm" George and Ruth Higdon George on December 14, 1942.  He passed away peacefully with his family surrounding him on December 14, 2024.

     He retired from the US Geological Survey.

     He was a loving husband to Nancy George for 42 years; a loving father to his son, Dwayne (Andrea) George of Durham, NC and daughters, Kimberly (Jimmy) Nay of Greenville, NC, Erin (James) Stewart of Gastonia, NC, Mallory (John) Shetley of Galveston, TX. A loving grandfather to his seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Marcella McRae and Glenda (Kenny) Bradley both of Robbinsville, NC.

     Dale was preceded in death by his parents, Malcolm and Ruth George, sisters, Diane Peterson and Odessa Jenkins.

     In lieu of flowers please donate in Dale's name to Samartian's Purse Western NC Helene Hurricane Relief.
