Frank "Bud" Carpenter

     Frank “Bud” Carpenter, 98 of the Town of Robbinsville, NC passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2026, at Erlanger WNC Hospital in Murphy, NC with his family by his side. He was the son of the late Henry and Cordilia Stewart Carpenter.

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Bunavee Phillips Carpenter; infant son and daughter, Charlene and Johnny Carpenter; brothers, John, Fletch, Jack, and George.

     He is survived by his daughter, Wanda Carpenter of Robbinsville, NC; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry and Sharon Carpenter of Robbinsville, NC, Ronnie and Lori Carpenter of Sylva, NC; grandchildren, Marty Huskins, Carla Moore, Jeremy Carpenter, Nichole Carpenter, Chadd Carpenter, Chris Carpenter, Delaney Carpenter and Ronald Price; great-grandchildren, Zane Holland (Destiny), Natalie Carpenter, Alexia Carpenter, Riley Carpenter, Parker Carpenter, Parker Waldroup, Hunter Carpenter and Piper Carpenter and one great-great grandchild Olivia Holland.

     Bud spent over 50 years working for the Town of Robbinsville doing maintenance. He worked with his hands and walked (never drove) all his life. He was always smiling and willing to talk to anyone he met. He will be missed by many. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, May 8, 2026, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Reverend Scott Roper will officiate. Burial will follow the service at the Grindstaff Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm at the Chapel prior to the service.
