Obituary
Gavene Nelms Collins, 77, of the East Buffalo Community of Robbinsville, NC went home to be with the Lord Friday, April 7, 2023, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
She was a native of Graham County and the daughter of the late Eugene and Thetus Brooks Nelms. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband J.H. Collins and infant children, Keith Collins, and Pam Collins.
She is survived by her son Johnny Collins and wife Sandy of Robbinsville, NC; brothers Dennis Nelms and Darrell Nelms (Mary) both of Robbinsville, NC; sisters, Patsy Nelms of Bradenton, FL and Robin Long of Robbinsville, NC; grandchildren, Olivia Robinson (Jake) of Asheville, NC, Colby Collins of Seattle, WA, Paige Edwards (Matt), and Brook Collins both of Robbinsville, NC; great grandchildren Noa Robinson, Waylon Edwards and Layton Orr.
A Celebration of Life and Graveside Service will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, April 16, 2023, at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The Reverend Scott Roper will officiate.
