Geraldine (Dean) Cook Trull and her son, Steven (Steve) Edward Queen both went home to be with the Lord within a few months of each other.
Dean passed away, January 23, 2021, in Phoenix, AZ due to complications from COVID-19 and Steve passed away, October 28, 2021, in Daytona Beach, FL after a serious bout with pneumonia.
Dean was an avid lover of Amish culture and literature and enjoyed time reading, watching TV and spending time with her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren were her world. Dean moved to Phoenix, AZ in 2019 where she spent her remaining years living with her daughter.
Steve resided in Daytona Beach, FL and was a butcher at Publix Supermarket. Anyone who knew him always looked forward to chatting with him during their trip to the store. He was known by all to be a friendly, laidback, and kind man with a good sense of humor. He was a hard worker, determined to provide for his family and always tried his best to support them. His family meant more to him than anything else in the world, and he was unendingly proud of his children and grandchildren.
Dean is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Braswell (Dr. David Braswell) and Stephanie Burgess (Ryan Burgess); daughter in law, Barbara Queen, grandchildren, Amanda Stapleton (Corey), Megan Kennedy (Ronnie), Austin Queen, Chelsea Kipper (Tyler), Kelly Desimone, Courtney Phoenix (Matthew), Ethan Goodpaster, Eli Goodpaster, and Erin Goodpaster, 12 great grandchildren; niece, Dana Cook and sister-in-law, Carol Cook. She was predeceased by her parents, Austin and Winnie Ledbetter Cook and her brother, Kenneth Morris Cook.
Steve is survived by his wife Barbara Queen; children, Amanda Stapleton (Corey), Megan Kennedy (Ronnie), and Austin Queen. He is also survived by his Father, Larry Queen (Celia), sisters, Rhonda Braswell, Stephanie Burgess, five grandchildren and extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Edward and Wilma Mae Queen, Austin, and Winnie Cook; uncles, Kenneth Morris Cook, and William “Billy Ed’ Queen.
Memorial Services for both, Dean and Steve will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, July 23, 2022, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Their ashes will be laid to rest following the Memorial Service at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery.
