Hilda Louise (Sawyer) Jenkins

     Hilda Louise Jenkins, 90, of Stecoah, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, June 6th 2023.

     She was a native of Stecoah and the daughter of the late Monroe and Mary Crisp Sawyer. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frazier Jenkins in 1990; children, Reba Woodard, Rex Jenkins, and Ronnie Jenkins; brother, Dennis Sawyer, and sister Janice Jenkins.

     Hilda lived a full life. She was a welcoming host to many families and friends who visited her home over the years. She was “Granny” to so many and someone who truly loved Jesus Christ. Her prayers for others never ceased. She was a long-time member of Stecoah Baptist Church.

     Hilda is survived by her son, Gary Jenkins and wife Hester, son in law Billy R. Woodard Sr. and wife Gail; grandchildren, Billy Woodard Jr, Louanne Jenkins McMahan, Erin Jenkins, Daniel Jenkins, Steven Jenkins; great grandchildren; Trevor Woodard, Leo Jenkins, Addie Woodard, Frazier Woodard, and Wylder Zayne Jenkins; sister-in-law, Willa Jean Cody, and husband Floyd; and special caregiver, Joyce Cody.

     Funeral services will be held at 1:30pm on Saturday June 10th, 2023, at Stecoah Baptist Church. The Reverend Mike Team will officiate. Family will receive friends from 12-1:30, prior to the service. Committal service will follow in the Yellow Branch cemetery.
