Jack Edward McCray

Jack Edward McCray, 68 of the Massey Branch Community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Sunday, March 27, 2022, at Graham Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Robbinsville, NC.

          He was a native of Clay County and the son of the late Nathan and Inez Canup McCray. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frances, Evelyn, Johnny, Brenda, Ruth, Shirley, and Arlen.

          He is survived by his wife, Connie Jenkins McCray; daughters, Amy Carrier of Waynesburg, KY, Jessica McCray of Andrews, NC, Emily James of Duluth, MN; son, Jack E. McCray II, of Murphy, NC; step son, Issac Lewis of Raleigh, NC; brothers, Tommy McCray of Robbinsville, NC, Jimmy McCray of Hayesville, NC, Ken Canup of Columbus, GA; sisters, Jennifer Stroud of Hayesville, NC, and Conda Byers of Hayesville, NC.  He is also survived by 7 grandchildren, Brookley Ann, Maecey, and Riley Carrier, Gavin McCray, Carlie, Kinslie, and Kaylie James.

          Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, April 1, 2022, at the Townson-Smith Chapel. The Reverends Kevin Crane, Coy Adams, and William Wayne Adams will officiate. Burial will follow at New Hope Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm Friday at the Chapel prior to the service.
