James Allen Ford, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Son, Brother, and Uncle, 75 of Robbinsville, NC, went home to be with the Lord April 12, 2026, with his wife by his side.
He bravely fought Cancer. James was born on July 15, 1950, in Graham County, NC, and resided in Robbinsville all of his life. James ran his business “Robbinsville Wrecking Crew” with all his passion. He was so happy and thankful to be able to do what he loved for his community.
If he wasn’t working, he was enjoying his time outdoors finding life’s simple pleasures. He loved fishing, hunting, camping, and most importantly his wife Cindy. Whether he was riding his 4-wheeler or tending to his garden, he embraced every moment with a quiet appreciation for the world around him. If he wasn’t outdoors working or planting; He was riding around town with his 4-legged best friend and sidekick, Simola. James Allen was a man built for the outdoors, it’s where he felt most like himself.
He will be remembered for his strength, his kindness, sense of humor and his dedication and love for his family and friends.
James is proceeded in death by his parents, Otto Ford and Azalee Rogers Ford. Sister, Jane Ford Weaver, (Hoover); grandson, River Allen Ford; nephew, David Weaver; and great nephew, Josh Crescenti.
He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Cindy Atkinson Ford; daughter, Hannah (Jonathan) Hoke; son, Jeremy (Heather) Ford; daughter, Jennifer (Cliff) Grant; brother, and Johnny (Margie) Ford.
Grandchildren, Arabell, Brea, Josh (Kristina), Chelsea (Isaiah), Ariel (Kaleb), Candace; great grandchildren, Karter and Karson, sister-in-law, Sharron Atkinson Newton (Tony); brother-in-law, Tony Atkinson (Tammy); and several loving nieces and nephews.
Services will be held at the Townson-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Thursday, April 16, 2026, at 2:00 pm. Reverend Patrick Odell will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1:00 till 2:00 pm at the chapel prior to the service. Burial will follow the service at the Old Mother cemetery. Pall bearers will be Jonathan Hoke, Jeremy Ford, Cliff Grant, Kaleb Jeno, Tony Newton, and Ira Rogers.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the family to help with funeral expenses.
