Jeffrey Shane Burchfield

Jeffrey Shane Burchfield, 51 of the Meadow Branch Community of Robbinsville, NC passed away, Friday, June 2, 2023.

          He was a native of Graham County and the son of Quillard Burchfield and Warrenette Rye Burchfield.  He was preceded in death by his son, Seth Burchfield in 1991.

          Jeff had many talents.  He was a painter by profession but was also a skilled carpenter and wood worker.  He was one of the last true mountain men.  he knew the local ridges and peaks like the back of his hand.  He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and he was one of the best ramp, ginseng and moss gatherers of his time.

          In addition to his parents, he is survived by his sons, Matthew Burchfield, Andrew Burchfield, and Timothy Burchfield all of Granite Falls, NC, Bray Burchfield of Johnson City, TN; grandchildren, Delilah, Odessa, Toni, Mallary, and Cooper.  He is also survived by his brother, Chris Burchfield of Maggie Valley, NC, sister and brother-in-law, Pam and Scott Icenhower of Robbinsville, NC and several nieces and one nephew.

          Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Friday, June 9, 2023, at the Townson-Smith Chapel.  The Reverends Coy Adams and Noah Williams will officiate.  Burial will follow the service at the Farley Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm Friday at the Chapel prior to the service.
