Joan Crisp Hyde, 87 of the Stecoah community went to be with her Heavenly Father in the early morning hours of Thursday, April 4, 2024.
Joan was born to Loyd and Lydia Garland Crisp on May 16, 1936. In addition to her parents, Joan was preceded in death by her husband Walt Hyde in 2015, her brothers, Jack, Kenneth and Keith Crisp, her sister, Lois Crisp Andrews, and her infant sister, Kathleen Crisp.
Joan is survived by her sons and their wives, Jeff and Donna Hyde, Mitch and Suzanne Hyde all of Robbinsville, NC, grandsons Joshua Hyde (Lauren) of Sylva, NC, Luke Hyde, and Kaleb Hyde (Erin) all of Robbinsville, NC, granddaughters, Niki Gibbs (Ty) of Robbinsville, NC, Katie Cocolin (Nate) of Franklin, NC, sister, Carol Crisp Smith of Gastonia, NC, 9 great grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
A native of Graham County, Joan was devoted to her family and her church. She was a member of Stecoah Baptist Church where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday School, and served as church secretary for many years.
Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, April 6, 2024, at Stecoah Baptist Church with Burial to follow in Jenkins Cemetery. Joan’s grandson, Pastor Joshua Hyde will officiate. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 1:00 pm prior to the service.
