Joey Lamar Bridges, age 70 went home to be with the Lord in the early morning hours of July 5, 2025. He joins his mother Christine Farley, his younger brother Terry "Buck" Bridges, and his daughter, Joelene Bridges Weeks in their heavenly home.
Bim is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Judy Bridges and their daughter Jennifer Bridges of Robbinsville, NC along with JC (Raquel) Bridgers of Texas, and Robert Strickland of North Carolina. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Jacob (Alyssa) Bridgers, Talon Weeks, and Holland Bridges, along with his great grandson TJ Bridgers; his younger sister, Mary "Sal" Bridges, younger brothers, Larry and Gary Farley, Aunt, Bobbie Bridges, and multiple nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Those who knew Bimbo knew he was an avid hunter and fisherman throughout his life until he was unable to be, and knew he took his hobbies very seriously. He was very happy to brag about his big fish catches and his hunting trips.
**The family requests that no food be brought to them, but instead to donate to any of the charities and food services around the county in memory of Joey and in honor of his giving nature to those he knew needed help**
Services will be held at Townson-Smith Funeral Home on Friday, July 11th from 5-7pm. Darrin Self will be presiding over the services.
