Kenneth Ray Kuhn, 87 of Robbinsville, NC passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of, August 1, 2025. Born in Hugheston, WV, Kenneth has gone home to be with the Lord.
A former coal miner, Kenneth knew the meaning of hard work and lived a life defined by grit, grace, and deep love for his family. He found joy in the simple things - morning coffee, a quiet fishing spot, and the satisfaction of a bountiful garden. Known as a master gardener, he took pride in canning his homegrown vegetables and was especially famous for his unforgettable spaghetti sauce.
Kenneth was a member of Hughes Creek Community Church in Hugheston, WV. His faith guided him through life's trials and triumphs. Though he could be stubborn, those who knew him best saw the heart of gold behind the tough exterior. He had a sharp wit and a quiet, enduring sense of humor that often caught you by surprise.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him, but his legacy of love, laughter, and strength will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind.
He is survived by Kay Carpenter Kuhn, his loving wife of 26 years; daughters, Patricia Parsley (Guy) and Kim Williams (Brian), step sons, David Denton (Kathryn), Michael Denton (Peggy); 6 grandchildren, Derek Parsley (Katherine), Chasity Hicks (James), Andrea Parsley (Mike), Miranda Hrivnak (Chris), Sydney McCall (Chris), Zach Denton, Josh Denton, Ben Denton, Katie Denton, Grace Denton, and Grady Denton; and 9 great grandchildren; sister, Patricia Hill (Bill Bob) and his close friends Richard and Nancy Brooks.
He is preceded in death by his parents Macel and Blanche Kuhn, brothers, Richard and Tom Kuhn, and sister, Nancy Blankenship.
A Celebration of Kenneth's Life will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, August 4, 2025 at the Townson-Smith Chapel. Reverend Noah Crowe will officiate. Family and friends are invited to gather and share memories. Burial will follow the service at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00 till 2:00 pm Monday at the Chapel prior to the service.
