Kirsty Jane (Laughlin) Waller

Dr. Kirsty Jane Waller, 48, of the Jack Branch Community of Robbinsville passed away, Wednesday, February 1, 2023, at her residence.

          She was born in Edinburgh, Scotland to Ken and Anne Laughlin.

          Kirsty was an animal lover, and she received her PhD in Animal Behavior from the University of Bristol in England. 

          Kirsty and her husband bought a home in Graham County in 1996 and have resided here permanently for the last 7 years.  During this time, she managed Valley River Animal Shelter and over the course of her work there she saved thousands of animals.

          She is survived by her husband, Michael Waller, her sister Gillian Laughlin of London, England, and her animals she loved so much.
